why is this needed
Problem Statement
Urban environments are experiencing escalating ecological strain driven by rapid infrastructure expansion, declining tree density, biodiversity loss, and rising carbon emissions. Tree cover depletion weakens natural carbon sequestration systems while amplifying urban heat-island effects and air quality degradation. Despite increasing environmental awareness, plantation efforts often remain fragmented, ceremonial, or short-term lacking institutional ownership and survival monitoring frameworks. Plant With Pride addresses this structural gap by enabling decentralised afforestation through organised institutional participation.
Movement Positioning
Plant With Pride operates as both a plantation movement and a climate engagement platform, encouraging stakeholders to not only plant trees but to participate in the long-term narrative of ecological responsibility. Through institutional mobilisation, volunteer engagement, and documentation-led visibility, the campaign strengthens the cultural and operational integration of sustainability within urban ecosystems.
Campaign Mission
The mission of Plant With Pride is to facilitate large-scale plantations through collaborative action, enabling institutions and communities to contribute meaningfully to ecological restoration during the monsoon plantation window. The campaign integrates plantation planning, stakeholder mobilisation, and sustainability communication to ensure that each plantation cycle generates both environmental and social impact.
